OoCities
A mirror and resurrection of GeoCities pages saved before the service closed, browsable by the original neighborhood paths. There is no API; you browse or use the search form on the site itself, which we link to. Useful when you need to revisit a specific GeoCities homepage or wander the old neighborhood structure as it once was.
No programmatic check, opens the archive’s own search.
Why it’s useful & how it works
OoCities is one of the most complete independent GeoCities mirrors available, preserving pages that were copied from the original neighborhood paths before Yahoo closed the service in October 2009. Researchers reach for it when they want to revisit a specific user's page or browse by the old neighborhood structure, such as SiliconValley or Hollywood, as it once appeared. Echo links you to OoCities and you run the search or browsing there on the site itself.
What’s inside
Roughly 2 million GeoCities pages captured during the final weeks of the service. Coverage is partial by necessity, since the rescue effort had only days and limited resources, but OoCities represents one of the larger independently preserved slices of the original site.
