video-host
Dailymotion
A major Western video host with hundreds of millions of videos and notably stable search through its keyless public Graph API. In our research on where vanished YouTube videos resurface, it stood out as the best openly accessible reupload source. Search it when chasing a copy of a video that has disappeared from YouTube; here it is currently offered as a link out to the site.
No programmatic check, opens the archive’s own search.
Why it’s useful & how it works
Dailymotion is one of the largest openly searchable video platforms outside YouTube, with a stable public API that needs no key or registration. In research on where deleted YouTube videos resurface, it stood out as the most programmatically accessible reupload source: its Graph API lets you search by keyword, filter by language, and retrieve rich metadata. At present, Echo links you out to the site where you run the search yourself; direct integrated results are planned for a later stage.
What’s inside
Over 600 million videos hosted across 33 localized versions of the site, with around 600,000 new uploads per month.
