Torrents-CSV
An open torrent search engine built on a community-maintained CSV dataset, indexing millions of torrents; the whole service is also self-hostable. It exposes a simple keyless JSON API, so searches run automatically and return clean results. Useful for checking whether a file or release that disappeared from the web still circulates on BitTorrent. It only hands out links to torrents, so weigh the legality of anything you fetch.
Why it’s useful & how it works
Torrents-CSV is the cleanest torrent source for automated research: it exposes a keyless JSON API, meaning Echo can query it directly and return structured results without opening an external site. The dataset is community-maintained and open-source, seeded from a 2017 Pirate Bay backup and grown by ongoing contributions. Non-seeded entries are periodically purged, so results represent torrents that still have active peers. Search by keyword and get back title, info-hash, and seeder count in one call.
What’s inside
Millions of torrents, kept lean by periodic removal of entries with no active seeders. The full dataset is downloadable as a plain CSV file, making it one of the few torrent indexes you can inspect or host yourself.
