You search it through its own site; programmatic access exists only via Kagi's paid API, so it is linked here rather than queried. Why it’s useful & how it works
Teclis began as a standalone non-commercial search index focused on creative, independent, and small-web content, and it now serves as one of Kagi's internal indexes, powering the 'small web' results within that paid search engine. The index targets human-authored pages, personal blogs, indie publications, and niche hobby sites, actively filtering out pages with excessive advertising. Echo links you to the Teclis site for direct search; programmatic access is only available through Kagi's paid API.
What’s inside
Teclis focuses on quality over quantity, indexing non-commercial and lightly monetised pages that pass its content filters. It also incorporates results from Marginalia Search. A precise page count is not publicly disclosed, but the index is intentionally selective rather than broad.
