Narkive
A long-running web archive of Usenet that lets you search and read historical newsgroup posts. There is no API; you use the search form on the site, which we link to. Worth checking alongside the other Usenet archives, since each covers and surfaces the material a little differently.
No programmatic check, opens the archive’s own search.
Why it’s useful & how it works
Narkive is an independently operated Usenet archive with a particularly convenient URL scheme: you reach any newsgroup's archive by prepending the group name to .narkive.com. It has a keyword search form on the main site as well. Echo links you to Narkive's search interface so you can look up threads or posts by keyword, newsgroup, or author. It is worth consulting alongside Google Groups and Usenet Archives because each archive surfaces some discussions the others miss.
What’s inside
Over one billion messages in more than 316 million threads, spanning thousands of newsgroups. Coverage runs from Usenet's early years through the mid-2010s for most groups.
