Karma Decay

A reverse-image search scoped entirely to Reddit: give it an image and it surfaces prior submissions of the same picture across the site. It is a plain website with no API. Handy for tracing when and where an image first circulated on Reddit. Currently degraded, the site timed out in our checks, and its freshness is limited since Reddit locked down data access, so treat it as a long shot.

Why it’s useful & how it works

Karma Decay is a reverse-image search scoped entirely to Reddit: give it an image and it surfaces earlier posts of the same picture across the site, complete with subreddit, date, and score. This makes it the quickest way to check whether an image is a repost, to find the original Reddit thread where something first appeared, or to trace how a meme spread across communities. The site is currently degraded and may respond slowly; Echo links you there, but treat it as a best-effort tool whose freshness has also been affected by Reddit's tightened data-access policies.

What’s inside

Reddit image submissions and link posts from the site's history, indexed up to the point data access became restricted. The corpus covers a large share of Reddit's public image history but is no longer fully current.
