A legacy image host holding billions of pictures from the earlier web, when it sat behind countless forum posts and blogs. There is no API, and much of the archive is hard to reach: hotlinked images often display placeholders and old albums are paywalled. Even so, it is occasionally the only surviving home of an old forum image, so a manual check can pay off. Degraded, expect broken or gated content frequently.

Why it’s useful & how it works
Worth checking as a last resort when an image linked from an older forum post or personal blog has no other surviving copy, since Photobucket hosted a huge slice of the pre-2010 web's pictures. There is no API or keyword search, so Echo links you directly to the site where you can log in or browse public albums by URL. Access is inconsistent: hotlinked images frequently show a placeholder, and many private albums require a paid subscription to view, so expect that a significant portion of old links will be gated or broken.
