Why it’s useful & how it works
FamilySearch is the largest and most geographically diverse free genealogy resource in the world, with particular depth in vital records, census records, church registers, and military records from countries most other services underserve. Records span centuries and more than 170 countries, and many collections are image-linked so you can view the original document alongside the index entry. Echo links you to the site's record search, where you look up ancestors by name, date, and place.
