A community site for Creative Commons-licensed music, remixes, samples, and a cappellas, on the order of tens of thousands of CC tracks. Searching and browsing happen on the site itself; a legacy query API exists but failed our checks. It is the place to look for reusable, openly licensed music stems and remixes. Status is currently uncertain: the site was unreachable in repeated probes and may be down, so check back if it doesn't load.

Why it’s useful & how it works
ccMixter is a community remix platform where musicians share a cappellas, stems, and complete tracks under Creative Commons licenses, making it a useful stop when you need a reusable music building block rather than a finished song. You search and browse on the site itself; Echo links you there and opens the relevant section. Note that the site has had intermittent availability issues, so if it does not load try again later.
What’s inside
Tens of thousands of Creative Commons-licensed tracks, remixes, samples, and a cappellas contributed by community members since the site launched in 2004. No official total is published, but the catalog spans a wide range of genres and stems from its active remix community.
