Imgur
A major image host that long served as the default picture backend for Reddit and countless forums. Old uploads can be retrieved by image ID, on the site or via an API that needs a free Client-ID. It mostly matters for resolving imgur links found in archived discussions. Be aware its archival value dropped after the 2023 purge of anonymous content, many old IDs now return nothing, so verify a link still resolves before relying on it.
Por qué es útil y cómo funciona
Most useful for resolving image links embedded in archived forum posts, Reddit threads, and blog comments from the 2010s, since Imgur was the default image host behind much of that era's web conversation. You can look up an image by its short ID on the site or retrieve it through the API with a free Client-ID. Be aware that the May 2023 removal of anonymous and inactive content means many older IDs now return nothing, so it is worth checking whether a specific link still resolves before relying on it.
Qué contiene
A large but reduced library after the 2023 purge removed anonymous and inactive uploads. No current total count is published by Imgur.
