Ahmia is the practical starting point for discovering what lives on Tor's hidden services without needing to use the Tor browser yourself. It crawls .onion addresses and indexes their content, then serves results through a regular website. Unlike unfiltered darkweb search engines, Ahmia maintains a manually curated blocklist that removes sites distributing abusive content. There is no API; Echo links you to its search form and you run queries there.
