The search API requires a free key and structured queries, so for now we link to its search interface rather than querying it directly. Useful when you want to follow a specific inventor's or company's patents rather than just keyword-match documents.

PatentsView's distinguishing feature is its disambiguated inventor and assignee data: because the same person or company often appears under many name variations in raw patent records, PatentsView resolves these into consistent identities, making it far more reliable for tracking an inventor's career or a company's patent portfolio over time. It covers US patents from 1976 onward. Echo links you to its search interface, where you can look up patents by inventor, assignee, technology class, or keyword.
