GDELT

A global news-monitoring project that tracks events and tone across world media, including television news. Its document API is keyless, so our search queries it directly in addition to linking to the project site. Use it to find news coverage of an event across many countries and outlets at once.

API

Por que é útil e como funciona

GDELT is most useful when you want to trace how a story or event was covered across dozens of countries and languages simultaneously. It monitors broadcast, print, and web news from nearly every country in over 100 languages and machine-translates 65 of them into English in real time, letting you search foreign-language coverage without speaking the language. Echo surfaces GDELT results alongside other archives; clicking through takes you to its search tools where you can filter by country, language, tone, or date range.

O que há dentro

GDELT monitors global news continuously and has indexed hundreds of millions of articles and broadcasts since 2015. Its Television Explorer, powered by the Internet Archive's TV News collection, covers more than 9.5 million broadcasts and 6.6 million hours of television news from over 50 countries.
