End of Term Web Archive
A joint project of the Internet Archive, Library of Congress, and university partners that crawls US federal government websites at every presidential transition. It preserves .gov and .mil content that routinely disappears when administrations change, pages, reports, and datasets deleted from live sites. Browse the project portal to reach the term crawls, which replay through partner wayback instances. Reach for it when a government page vanished around an election.

Warum es nützlich ist & wie es funktioniert
The End of Term Archive is a joint effort by the Internet Archive, Library of Congress, University of North Texas, and Stanford to systematically capture the entire US federal web at every presidential transition, preserving content that routinely disappears when administrations change. It covers .gov and .mil sites across the executive, legislative, and judicial branches. You reach the archived sites through the project portal, which links to replay instances hosted by the partner institutions. This is the most reliable resource for federal pages that were live before January 2009, 2013, 2017, 2021, or 2025 and have since been removed.
Was drinsteckt
Five term crawls from 2008 through 2024. The 2024 crawl alone collected over 500 terabytes of material including more than 100 million unique pages. Earlier terms add substantially to the cumulative total.
